BMW Oct Car Sales go up 11.6% on Year; Reach New Monthly Record

BMW AG (BMW.XE) said Tuesday that car sale rose 11.6% on the year in October to 128,593 vehicles as strong demand mostly for the X1 small sports-utility-vehicle and the revamped 5-series model led to the most excellent October sales result in the luxury car maker's history.

"New orders have been burly for all of these models, and based on the steady recovery of many markets, we persist to anticipate double-digit sales growth through the end of the year," BMW sales Chief Ian Robertson said in a report.

BMW said its flagship 7-series sedan hit the previous model's sales record in October. Since its market commence two years ago, the luxury sedan has been delivered to other than 100,000 customers. Sales of the BMW 7-series have grown 23% to 64,763 vehicles since January this year.

On its German home turf, BMW group's latest vehicle registrations rose 4.8% on the year to 23,220 last month. In North America, BMW's sales raised 13% to 23,222 vehicles.

In China, BMW's third-biggest sales region, sales leaped 44% on the year to 13,738 cars in October.
