Honda recalls thousands of cars in Brazil due to imperfection

Japan's Honda Motor said Friday it was recalling almost 127,000 City and New Fit compact cars in Brazil as of potential troubles with accelerator pedals.

"City and Fit vehicles manufactured in Brazil (between 2008 and 2010) are being recalled in Brazil for faulty accelerator pedals," a Honda spokesman in Tokyo said, note down there were no exports of the vehicles from Brazil.

Dirt and dust can enter the accelerator system and attach to its sensor, avoiding the pedal from coming back promptly, he said.

No-one has been wounded because of the problem although it caused one property-damage accident, he said.
