Porsche Panamera diesel unveiled: boasts class leading range

Porsche has introduced the diesel version of its Grand Turismo Panamera. Powered by a shining new three-litre V6 engine with a rated output of 250 hp between 3,800 rpm and 4,400 rpm and peak torque of 550 Nm from 1,750 rpm to 2,750 rpm, the Panamera is going to become one of the most capable long distance tourers with its incredible range.

Porsche is claiming a fuel efficiency figure in excess of 15kmpl, which, combined with the car’s massive 80-liter fuel tank gives it an enviable range of 1200km on a single tank of diesel.

The transmission duties are taken care of by an eight-speed Tiptronic S system. The Panamera diesel is capable of doing a 0-100 km/h sprint in 6.8 seconds and a top speed of 242 km/h.

In terms of its driving dynamics and comfort, the Panamera Diesel is a genuine Porsche Gran Turismo through and through. Adaptive air suspension is available as an alternative to the standard steel spring suspension if so desired. This makes for a very wide spread of suspension characteristics with further enhancements to ride comfort on the one hand and very sporty driving dynamics on the other.
